MICROCEMENT
A coating to create unique spaces
WHAT IS CEMHER MICROCEMENT?
The realism of its stony beauty stands out.
Cemher is inspired by the purest nature to create microcement and achieve its unique stone design. Thus, this is the main reason for our brand claim: “the origin”.
Since 1940, we remember the role of nature in the origin of life. When the rock formations, from which we are now supplied, were the witnesses of the evolution of the first men. That was the origin of life and Cemher, with its microcement, manages to extrapolate it to today’s interior design. We make it possible to feel the origin of life in your own home. Somehow, the microcement gives nature to the surrounding environment.
CEMHER® MICROCEMENT IS COMPOSED OF HIGH QUALITY MINERALS, CEMENT, RESINS, ADDITIVES AND MINERAL PIGMENTS.

HOW DOES CEMHER MICROCEMENT DIFFER FROM OTHER COATINGS?
Use: it can be applied both on vertical and horizontal surfaces, thanks to its great adhesion. As well as in wet areas such as bathrooms or swimming pools. Main advantage: it can be laid over existing material (tiles, plasterboard, tiles, marble, terrazzo, plaster…) without the need to cut or remove the previous pavement or coating. This is possible thanks to its minimum thickness (3mm). A room can be renovated with hardly any work or debris.
Truly different from the rest: if there is something that differentiates microcement from other alternatives is the absence of joints. Forget the unsightly joints of porcelain tile and floating floorboards. Microcement is a continuous coating so it gives the rooms a sense of continuity and unique amplitude. It integrates perfectly with the environment, without taking away from the decoration that complements it.

Minimalism as always!
Once the collection has been chosen, it is time to decide on the finishes.
Natural Collection 5 different finishes. The difference is its granulometry, it is important to know that the higher the granulometry the lower the stucco effect and vice versa, the lower the granulometry the higher the stucco effect. It is also important to know that the greater the granulometry the greater the hardness.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS
Is Cemher microcement certified?
In addition to being a CE certified product, Cemher microcement has been subjected to multiple tests.
Is a microcement floor safe for health?
Yes. Strict tests show that, after the application and drying phases, microcement does not release substances into the air that are harmful to adults and children.
Are the surfaces resistant to footfall and impact?
Tests show the high resistance of microcement to various stresses. The surface resistance is higher than that of wood. It is advisable to observe some tips on the maintenance of the surface. See frequently asked questions: “How to maintain a perfect appearance over time”.
What can the resistance of microcement be compared to?
Microcement has specifications similar to those of a high-end wood floor. This material has excellent strength and is suitable for use as a floor and wall covering, however traditional microcement is not comparable to ceramic, but our Microröck microcement is the only one that is comparable to ceramic surfaces.
Can microcement surfaces be scratched?
All surfaces, even the most resistant, can be scratched. Think of steel (the body of cars) that scratches easily when subjected to stress with sharp objects. As with all surfaces, these scratches will be more evident on very shiny surfaces and soft on more matte surfaces. For this reason, we recommend an opaque finish and a more material effect. If scratches need to be removed, extraordinary maintenance can be performed, as is the case with wood surfaces.
What colors are available?
Thanks to special toners, it is possible to obtain many color combinations. The intensity and tone of the color will vary, depending on the amount of dye used. In fact, the color chart only offers a rough guide: it will be the applicator’s task to provide samples based on customer requests. It is also possible to create effects such as polished, silky, cloudy and acid tints, as well as to provide shades and decorative inserts to form unique and customized finishes with great aesthetic impact and elegance. Take a look at the finishes page to see the colors available for each finish.
On average, how long does it take to create a microcement surface?
As a guide, it would take about a week to create 100 m2. But application times depend on the complexity and type of installation. In the case of an existing surface, it may require a few more days, necessary for the evaluation and preparation of the base.
Can the color and appearance of a microcement surface change over time?
The colors used have maximum resistance to UV rays and the protective treatments do not yellow. As with all types of materials, after constant exposure to sunlight and moonlight, the colors may fade slightly, which cannot be considered a defect.
Can accidental dropping of heavy objects ruin the coating?
Yes, heavy and sharp objects can mark microcement surfaces.
If water, oil or other substances are spilled, will the microcement stain?
Cemher offers a wide range of sealers and types of microcements. The choice of the appropriate protection and type of microcement depends on the requirements of the end customer. There are solvent and water-based products. Depending on the chosen sealer will fully protect from liquid substances, especially the most used in the domestic environment, such as wine, oils, vinegar and coffee, must be removed quickly from the surface of microcement before they can penetrate to any depth, if you use the combination of waterproof microcements in mass and the most resistant sealer will get a surface completely impervious to stains, water etc..
How can you maintain a perfect appearance over time?
Certain effective precautions are recommended: a) provide a doormat at the entrance of the house that can retain dust, sand and abrasive particles b) regular sweeping or vacuuming c) use protective felt under furniture, especially under furniture that is often moved, such as chairs. d) in case it is necessary to move heavy furniture, it is recommended to place a wool cloth under the feet or the base of the furniture to avoid ugly lines. e) Before painting, electrical, plumbing, moving and handling furniture, protect the floor with cardboard, wool blankets and nylon sheeting.
How do you keep a microcement surface clean?
Cleaning a microcement floor is very simple. A damp cloth is sufficient to clean the surfaces, with the addition of a little neutral floor detergent. It is recommended to periodically treat the pavement with a specific protective product that does not contain waxes, so it does not scratch with footsteps and does not disappear in a short period of time. This product is FLOOR PROTECT (Visit the maintenance page). Acid-based detergents, ammonia, chlorine or any abrasive detergent products are absolutely forbidden. It is recommended to use only neutral detergents that are not aggressive.
Is microcement a resin?
The Cemher brand does not manufacture paints, but cement and polymer coatings for use as a decorative finish (thickness 2-4 mm) for interior and exterior surfaces. Considered as an example of a coating with great architectural and aesthetic value, microcement was formulated to coat, restore and recreate vertical and horizontal surfaces, while offering the much sought-after effect of “cement finish” floors.
Can I change the color of the surfaces once they have been created?
Yes. Simply sand/scrape the surface and reapply microcement. This procedure is especially useful for the restoration and renovation of surfaces such as, for example, change of use of commercial premises.
I have underfloor heating: Can I use microcement?
Microcement has a perfect adhesion even on surfaces with underfloor heating systems. It is essential to choose a suitable support for the installed heating system. Cemher Microcement has a heat conductivity value of λ = 0.46.
Can kitchen countertops and bar counters be made in microcement?
Yes, it can be used on any type of surface as long as it is properly treated. However, it is not recommended to expose the product to continuous contact with a heat source, or to place hot pots, the special Microröck microcement does withstand high temperatures and is waterproof, but it is always advisable not to overexpose long periods of time to high temperatures as a precaution, although the product withstands temperatures of over 200º.
I would like to clad a fireplace and a kitchen countertop: is microcement heat resistant?
The heat resistance tests performed on the material obtained excellent results. The microcement was heated to a temperature of 200°C without showing any defects. However, it is not advisable to place boiling objects directly on the surface, so suitable heat-resistant mats should be used. In addition, in the case of kitchen countertops, it is recommended to use a suitable cutting board, Microröck withstands high temperatures and hardness similar to ceramic, but a sharp knife could damage the surface as it happens with marble, ceramic, etc.
With a thickness of only 3 mm, can microcement be used on exterior surfaces that support cars and heavy vehicles?
Absolutely yes. Microcement has a high resistance to abrasion and is also recommended for the construction of access ramps, parking lots and driveways. In these cases, only the Microcemento base coat version is applied, which also ensures that the material has slip resistance. Also, remember that the resistance to vehicular traffic is given by the thickness of the support. When restoring old floors, it will be convenient to verify the conditions and find out the thickness of the support, the best microcement for these surfaces is Microröck.
